Our members of First Presbyterian Church of Oskaloosa, IA - are actively involved in a broad variety of ministries, both within the church and outside our walls out in the community.

Our ministries vary depending on the needs of the community and our members.

Our members are continuously evolving to meet the needs of our community.  Here is a list of some of the ways in which we are reaching out:


  • The Crisis Center - supplying bathroom paper for residents

  • Ecumenical Cupboard -supplying plus volunteer working a couple times a month.

  • Our Prayer Chain

  • Oskaloosa Hospice - supplied homemade face masks

  • Our Zero Gravity - one weekend a year - volunteer and work putting together "Meals in the Heartland"

  • Operation Christmas Child - whole congregation supplies items for children that are packed in a shoebox.

  • Zero Gravity - take one weekend a year - volunteers and work to pack all the items and get ready to send off to the children nationwide.

Our biggest mission is are congregations loyalty to each other, it's has never been more prominent than during this years pandemic - our members all reach out to one another to check on each others welfare, by keeping in touch or helping picking up groceries and medications.
