High School Youth Group
February 28, 2021 we started on a new mission project! This two-part project includes making fidget aprons for memory care patients. Next week we will finish these aprons along with activity bags which will be donated to the Oskaloosa Care Center. We will keep you updated! If you would like to donate to our project, we are looking for packages of new fuzzy socks and word find booklets
Zero Gravity Easter Egg Hunt - Sunday, April 4, 2021
In October they carved pumpkins and took them to the Oskaloosa Serenity House Hospice Care for everyone to enjoy.
Also, they went and packed 1080 meals which will feed 6480 people.
This Palm Sunday the youth group talked about how Jerusalem wanted Jesus to be a king to end Roman rule. They did not understand he did not come to be a ruler, but as one who would bring salvation. I asked the students how many times we tend to compartmentalize Jesus and only call on Him when it fits our needs? What if we called on Jesus in all circumstances like joy or sadness, jealousy or sin, fear or doubt. Jesus offers us this kind of strength. He says:
"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give your rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light."
